Customers will gain confidence in your pub’s wine offering if your team know about it and therefore spend more money on it.
Taste the wines with your team- which ones go with which dishes on the menu
Store wine at the correct temperature
Give the wine list with the menu
Don’t keep your customers waiting for their wine
Practice service- opening, pouring, allowing the customer to taste it
Correct level- don’t under or overfill glasses, room should be left for the wine to breathe in the glass
Give your customers control- let them pour the wine and offer a replacement when a bottle is near the end
Champagne & sparkling wine- bottle should be chilled well- twist the bottle not the cork- fill glasses in stages to prevent overspill
