Training

Please find below some general tips for when you are training your staff.

  • It is essential that your team are fully trained on all duties they have to undertake and this includes taking refresher courses throughout the year.
  • Training records should be kept for all staff training, with signatures confirming their attendance and these records should be stored in a place where they can be accessed easily for inspection.
  • Training should be well structured and as thorough as is required - you as landlord are ultimately responsible for ensuring that your team are adequately trained.
  • If you are concerned about what training you need, check with your BDM and use the chart on this website.
  • Always remember that any members of your team working in the kitchen should regularly be trained in basic food hygiene and COSHH.
