Food Safety

Ensure you are complying with all aspects of food safety and hygiene within your pub


Physical/chemical

It is essential to prevent foreign bodies and chemicals getting into food.

  • Prevent chemicals contaminating food by following manufacturers instructions on how to use and store cleaning chemicals.
  • Simply keep food covered.
  • Make sure any chemicals used to control pests are stored in the correct way.
  • Always clear and clean as you go.
  • Repair and replace any equipment or utensils that are damaged, rusty or have loose parts.
  • Your actions:

    1. Keep a log of events if things go wrong, what did you do?

    2. Review how you use and store chemicals in your business.

    3. Make sure you have a process in place should you find objects in food that has been delivered from your supplier.

    4. Throw foods away should you suspect any cross contamination such as chemicals, glass or insects.

    5. Train your team.
