Food labelling is something that is covered by food law and so you should be very careful before making any claims on your menu.
FAT
Reduced fat = 25% less fat (than the identical product before)
Low fat = no more than 3g per 100g/ 100ml
Fat free = no more than 0.15g per 100g/ 100ml
SATURATED FAT
Reduced saturated fat = 25% less saturated fat (than the identical product before)
Low in saturated fat = no more than 1.5g per 100g/ 100ml
Free of saturated fat = no more than 0.1g per 100g/ 100ml
CALORIES- KCAL
Low calorie = no more than 40kcal per 100g/ 100ml
SUGAR
Reduced sugar = 25% less sugar (than the identical product before)
Low sugar = no more than 5g per 100g/ 100ml
Sugar free = no more than 0.2g per 100g/ 100ml
SALT
Reduced salt/ sodium = 25% less (than the identical product before)
NATURALLY HEALTHY
Foods that are generally recognised as healthy eg: fruits and vegetables, fish, lean meat, low fat dairy products
