5 A DAY

Why not help your customers get their 5 A DAY? Fruit and vegetables are key to a healthier lifestyle, eating a variety of them will give your customers plenty of vitamins and minerals important to their health.

You should have at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day.
Fresh, frozen, canned, chilled, 100% juice and vegetables all count towards your 5 A DAY.

  • Fruit and vegetables in convenience foods such as ready meals, pasta sauces, soups and pudding can contribute however they are often high in added salt, sugar or far which should only be eaten in moderation.
  • Buy your fruit and vegetables in season so save on cost- check our seasonality table on this website, they are also more tasty when in season.
  • Beans and other pulse vegetables only count once a day because pulses contain fibre but they don't give the same mixture of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as fruit and vegetables.
  • Dietary supplements DO NOT have the same benefit
