Most spirits are sold at around 40% vol ie: 4/10 ethanol or 40 parts alcohol per 100 parts total volume. Some spirits, particularly liqueurs, are sold at lower or higher alcoholic content.
Raw materials of distillation:
After distillation the base spirit may be flavoured or it may be flavoured and sweetened- liqueur.
